The E-business Guide was a complex project to undertake and the design had to take into account the original functionality of the intenal E-business Guide system as well as seven very different roles. Each role had its own access and control limitations to consider. The roles were:
- Public
- Client
- Client Adviser
- Vendor
- Vendor Manager
- Service Line Manager
- Content Administrator
The Client had to register, login and then follow the E-business Guide Roadmap to increase their E-business capabilities. The Vendor had to register, login and then place their E-business services onto the Roadmap for the CLients to use. Both the Client Adviser and Vendor Manager were there to support their respective roles. The Service Line Manager could assume any internal role as well as managing the entire system. The Content Administrator was the only role that could add, change or delete content anywhere within the website.
Image Centre produced an outstanding design for the NZTE E-business Guide. Encorporating NZTE brand identity and the need to adhere New Zealand Government Web Guidelines, the cutting edge design was clear, effective and contained easy to follow functionality.
In addition to the web design, Image Centre was asked to assist with the development of the Roadmap functionality. Understanding the NZ Government Guidelines fully, the Image Centre Programming Team introduced an innovative JavaScript based drop-down tree solution to cater for the required functionality.
Currently NZTE are programming the E-business Guide and it is expected to be live around the end of April 2006. For more information on the current NZTE E-business Guide please visit: www.biz.org.nz
