nest is one of New Zealand's premier home ware retail stores.

Image Centre is proud of its association with nest and to have been involved in the deployment of their latest store.

Image Centre's mission and goal in developing nest's new site was to combine  great web design with the latest development techniques. nest's vast selection of products and fluid stock levels across multiple stores made for a challenging project.

Image Centre needed to develop a back-end system which offered ease of use, efficient online purchasing, users the ability to establish gift registries online, display and promote nest's latest catalogue and be  easily optimised for search engines.

Image Centre's content management system allows nest the ability to manage promotions and products with ease. It also meant that nest was able to closely monitor orders and run reports through the CMS.

The website had multiple interdependent systems working together including, nest's POS system, warehouse supplier, in store accounting system and customer services (0800 staff).

Image Centre developed a back-end system that communicates with nest's warehouse system, drawing product content from their inventory management and fulfillment system.

Items only appear on the site if they are in stock or are available for order; if desired, when inventory dips below established levels the item automatically displays a "not in stock" message.

The site features

  • over 1,000 products available for purchase online
  • dynamic stock level and product information
  • secure ecommerce
  • content management facilities
  • interactive flash catalogue
  • integration with the nest warehouse
  • Order history tracking and management
  • Partial Pick management
  • Online gift registries

Image Centre's digital photography studio shot over 900 product images for the website

The result is arguably New Zealand's best home ware's e-commerce website
