Client: Image Label Systems
Image label Systems (ILS) specialises in the management of the supply chain of product identification solutions, with a historic emphasis on the apparel industry. The company offers a comprehensive product identification range, including woven labels, printed labels, swing tickets, specialty products in leather, PVC; rubber and other materials, source tagging and anti-counterfeiting solutions.

The Brief

Image Label Systems wished to build an online product portfolio for access by customers; including brand owners, retailers, apparel manufacturers, ILS subsidiaries, and network partners.

ILS required an electronic online catalogue to assist with the dissemination of information to a variety of authorised users.

The electronic solution needed to be fast, simple to use and capable of managing various access groups, controlling which users can see certain product information.

Ordering product via an online shopping cart was required to provide the ability to order multiple products simultaneously – e.g. varying quantities from one range, with different size or colour information selected.

Processing of the order needed to be emailed to an appropriate supply chain location. In some cases a large order needed to be routed to multiple supply locations, depending on the delivery address.

Reporting was required on the orders placed per item, per purchaser, for each managing and supply unit. Reporting on user activity was also required.

The solution needed to be fully content managed and scalable for future development.

The solution

Image Centre developed the ILS Online Label Portfolio using Microsoft’s Commerce Server 2002 as the base platform of the solution.

Microsoft Commerce Server is a scalable online business solution, designed to provide a platform to engage and manage a global network of customers and trade partners and transact in multiple currencies.

Microsoft Commerce Server allowed Image Centre to use a proven foundation to build the ILS Label Portfolio, eliminating the need to develop the solution from the ground up.

Image Centre built upon this base, using .NET, to customise the solution to ILS specific requirements. The initial entry point to the ILS online portfolio is via a login and introduces users to ILS label portfolio solution.

The registration process also acts as a facility to capture user’s personal details for future e-marketing initiatives.

The Label Portfolio (showroom) is hierarchical in its design; each brand having its own catalogue. Whilst the Label Portfolio carries the ILS corporate branding; each brand catalogue within the portfolio carries the applicable corporate logo for ease of recognition.
